Mindful Hot Flow

This class is taught by:

Pam Jamieson

My yoga journey began over 10 years ago and has grown with me through different seasons of my life. I began to take regular yoga classes as tool for managing stress and taking care of myself while taking care of my family and mothering two small children. What initially began as a path to physical health became a journey inward, leading to a new awareness of myself, a stronger connection to my intuition and heart. I followed my passion for the study and practice of yoga and completed my 200hr teacher training in April 2016 at Enlighten Yoga in Charlotte, NC. Along my journey I have practiced many styles of yoga including ashtanga, bikram, jivamukti, universal yoga, yin, prana vinyasa and saamdhana yoga which have all influenced my practice.

My yoga practice has helped me build strength, remember the importance of slowing down to relax and restore, learn to remain calm under stress, find balance and a sense of playfulness on my mat. Experiences on my mat, making new shapes and connecting with my breath, continue to show me that I am stronger than I know and I believe it is important to help others remember that truth as well. Taking these lessons off the mat and into life continues to be challenging and rewarding but this path of learning continues to fuel me and my teaching. I hope to challenge and inspire students with their practice on their mat and encourage them to continue their exploration of themselves and practicing yoga off the mat as well.

Christin Carter RYT500

Christin began her yoga journey in 2011 after giving birth to her second child. 6 months after taking her first yoga class she started her 200 hour yoga teacher training program through Grace Morales, the founder of Charlotte Yoga. After graduating, one month later, she started Grace’s 500 hour yoga teacher training program. After successfully finishing 500 hours of teacher training she's been lucky enough to be able to assist Grace Morales in her 200 hour teacher trainings she holds in Charlotte, NC.

Before teaching yoga, she was blessed enough to be able to stay at home to be with her children. Christin says, "Being a stay at home mom is one the best jobs in the world, but it can also be very taxing at times. When my daughter was 6 months old my husband suggested I try yoga, before I actually spontaneously combusted from the stress and monotony of toddler life."

Having an outlet for yourself is crucial to staying healthy, for anyone, in today’s world.

The study of yoga and anatomy has held her attention for years, and it probably will be something that inspires her for the rest of her life. She will continue to challenge herself and find new sources to learn from daily. She continues to learn from her practice and the awesome people that are with her on this journey.

Christin says, "Yoga has been very beneficial to me in my everyday life. It helps me to be a better a better person, a more patient mother, a loving wife, a more confident teacher, and student. Teaching yoga is something I never imagined doing, but it has turned out to be one of the most gratifying jobs I’ve had to date. Sometimes, the things we never planned on happening in our lives end up being the most prosperous."

When guiding a class through a sequence she takes a fun, hands on approach with just the right amount of challenge.

Patty P. Perez

RYT 200
Born and raised in Miami, FL, Patty first discovered yoga in college in 2005. It wasn't until after the birth of her first child that she became passionate about nutrition and overall wellness. She went back to yoga and graduated from the Skanda Yoga 200 hour teacher training in 2012. Skanda yoga is a breath-inspired, alignment-based, power vinyasa style of practice. Her classes are dynamic, with emphasis on the breath and alignment, both part of the Skanda principles. Patty loves to challenge people to grow in their practice and go places they never knew they could. She has a passion for making a difference in peoples' lives and guiding them to be the Divine Light that we all are.

Lydia Martin

Lydia began her yoga journey in April of 2013. Looking for a low impact form of exercise, yoga seemed to be the perfect option. As a former ballet dancer, she needed a form of movement that was gentle on the joints, but still expressive, and she fell in love with yoga right away. Her journey with yoga coincided with the opening of Synergy Yoga and Wellness and it was a perfect fit straightaway. After 2 years of almost daily yoga classes she decided to embark on yoga teacher training with Sara Cain Da Costa and Michele Tampa Hoag through the 200 Hour Samdhaana Training created by Melody White of Sacred Space in Mt. Airy, NC. Lydia graduated from teacher training in April 2016 and has been teaching ever since. Lydia's love of arm balances, deep stretch and creative flows brings a well rounded funky spark to her classes. Expect encouragement, a challenge and a fun playlist when coming to her class! Carolyn Adickes

RYT-200
Carolyn is originally from the mountains of North Carolina.  Her first experience with yoga was at sixteen when she put in her parents' copy of Rodney Yee's AM Yoga.  To this day, she still remembers how amazing she felt afterward. However, it wasn't until she was 24, and finally bought a book on yoga, that her true yoga journey began.  After an injury made pursuing a career in dance impossible, she came to yoga hoping to find a replacement only to find so much more.

In 2014, she finally made the decision to share her love of Samdhaana Yoga with others, finishing her training in June of 2015 with Sara Cain da-Costa and Melody White.  It is her hope that everyone who attends her class feels safe exploring their bodies and taking their practice deeper.

When she is not teaching, she can be found chasing after her spirited daughter and spending time with her wonderfully supportive husband, a Rock Hill native.

Mindful Hot Flow is calming yet invigorating, it focuses on alignment and breath. Although the 90-95 degree heat takes getting used to, it can quickly become addictive! Mindful Hot is a fusion of traditional a Hot26 and Vinyasa Flow. The pace is designed to create challenge by holding poses longer to develop alignment awareness, engage strength, develop endurance, improve balance, open shoulders and hips. It is where to start a "power" practice and also where to come for growing & maintaining your level of strength and flexibility. It's very important to hydrate prior to class. Also, recommended that you take class more than 90 minutes after a meal. Great precursor is Foundations and Vinyasa Basics.
