Lydia began her yoga journey in April of 2013. Looking for a low impact form of exercise, yoga seemed to be the perfect option. As a former ballet dancer, she needed a form of movement that was gentle on the joints, but still expressive, and she fell in love with yoga right away. Her journey with yoga coincided with the opening of Synergy Yoga and Wellness and it was a perfect fit straightaway. After 2 years of almost daily yoga classes she decided to embark on yoga teacher training with Sara Cain Da Costa and Michele Tampa Hoag through the 200 Hour Samdhaana Training created by Melody White of Sacred Space in Mt. Airy, NC. Lydia graduated from teacher training in April 2016 and has been teaching ever since. Lydia's love of arm balances, deep stretch and creative flows brings a well rounded funky spark to her classes. Expect encouragement, a challenge and a fun playlist when coming to her class! Discover the "Power" and strength within you! This is a vigorous class which builds heat and stamina through sun salutations, linking stronger poses and sequences. This class is created to carry those who have a strong existing intermediate to advanced yoga practice through a series of poses and sequences that lead up to taking peak postures, if desired. Class emphasizes the principles of forward folds, core strengthening, and twists. We also include inversions, arm balances, and/or back bends. Stillness is offered through Deep Stretch floor poses and relaxation will round out the class for a balanced experience mind, body, and spirit. Best suited for those with a basic knowledge of the poses and a Vinyasa practice. A great precursor to this is Foundations, Basic Vinyasa, or Intermediate Vinyasa.
Skip your massage & unroll your mat here! Each posture is held two to five minutes utilizing props or unique, gentle variations to encourage deep release and relaxation. While the physical body unwinds, the energetic body sheds pent-up stress. Yes, you can achieve (at least for a moment) true inner peace! This is a perfect complement to your active, yang practice, athletic endeavors to give you greater flexibility and help prevent injuries, or just to relax. All levels are welcomed.
Mindful Hot Flow
Mindful Hot Flow is calming yet invigorating, it focuses on alignment and breath. Although the 90-95 degree heat takes getting used to, it can quickly become addictive! Mindful Hot is a fusion of traditional a Hot26 and Vinyasa Flow. The pace is designed to create challenge by holding poses longer to develop alignment awareness, engage strength, develop endurance, improve balance, open shoulders and hips. It is where to start a "power" practice and also where to come for growing & maintaining your level of strength and flexibility. It's very important to hydrate prior to class. Also, recommended that you take class more than 90 minutes after a meal. Great precursor is Foundations and Vinyasa Basics.

Step away from your busy day and onto your mat for this mid-day shortened 50 minute class to de-stress, clear your mind, take a deep breath, and loosen up.
This is a mixed level non-heated Vinyasa flow yoga class. The sequences will build strength and flexibility, while increasing concentration and balance. You can return to work or your afternoon activities feeling refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day!
The class is best suited for those having a basic knowledge of the asana practice or poses. Great precursors to this is our Yoga 101 or Foundations Class.
$7 Mixed Level Vinyasa Flow (matinee pricing)
This class will focus on basic asanas (poses) that develop alignment awareness and aptitude, physical strength and endurance, and mental and physical awareness. Movements are done in synch with the breath. Class is heated.
$7 Slow Flow
Slowing down the flow is a practice that encourages using steady breathing, smooth transitions, and holding postures. It's a smooth linking of unhurried breath with movement, intensified by mindfully holding postures. It’s a practice that builds strength, and each movement is initiated by slow controlled inhales and exhales. Expect leg, hip, back, and shoulder openings with longer holds to gain stretch and increased mobility. Find true balance in this moving meditation. Modifications are offered to allow for all skill levels. Class is warmed between 78-80 degrees.
